RFS MAGALIES 400 NAMED ABSA OFF ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT OF THE YEAR
There will be plenty of cause for celebration at the RFS Magalies 400, the opening round of this year’s Absa Off Road Championship, at Tarlton International Raceway on March 9 and 10.
RFS team finishes sixth in Human Auto 400
Christiaan du Plooy and Henk Janse van Vuuren did well to finish sixth overall in their Retirement Fund Solutions-backed BMW X3 V8 in a tough Human Auto 400 off road race in the Bloemfontein area on Saturday.
The RFS Motorsport team, fielding a single entry for this penultimate round of the Absa Off Road Championship, was among 17 teams to survive a punishing route in the extensive grounds of the De Brug military base. Regular team-mates Hannes Grobler and Hennie ter Stege, who have been competing in a diesel-engined BMW X3, were on hand to led Du Plooy and Janse van Vuuren their support while they wait for their new V8-engined BMW X3.
Single entry for RFS BMW team in Human Auto 400
The Retirement Fund Solutions team will field a single entry for Christiaan du Plooy and Henk Janse van Vuuren in the Pretoria-based team's BMW X3 for the penultimate round of the Absa Off Road Championship, the Human Auto 400 in the Bloemfontein area this weekend.
Grobler and Ter Stege 2nd in Sun City 400

The four times national off road champion brought the Retirement Fund Solutions BMW X3 across the finish line near the North West gambling and holiday resort 4 min 48 sec behind the winning factory Toyota Hilux of Duncan Vos and Rob Howie. Third, a further 4 min 58 sec in arrears was the privateer Toyota Hilux of Malcolm Kock and Johan Burger.
